Hoopers is an up and coming dog sport which tests the agility, skill and speed of your dog without any impact.
All sorts of dogs from the very young to very old, tri-pod, retired or otherwise can take part.
Ocean Blue Hoopers is accredited by Canine Hoopers World, with two accredited instructors.
We are available for group and private sessions, and hope to start some competitions this summer.
Services
Group Lessons
Group lessons are Friday lunchtimes and from the end of March will also take place on Thursday evenings. Dogs must have a good recall/focus on their handler and be reasonably fit and healthy for exercise.
Puppy Workshops
For pups young we run hoopers workshops monthly throughout the season (April – October). These sessions are primarily focused on drive, engagement and propreoception, though from 6 months of age pups can take part in normal sessions. Check out the workshops page to find the next dates!
Workshops
Workshops give you the chance to practice particular areas of competitive hoopers, such as distance work, turns, verbal signals, independence and drive, obstacle discrimination, etc. These are planned in, and the calendar will be going live soon.
Private Sessions
For those who would like to give hoopers a go without committing to group sessions, or those who want to progress in specific skills or prefer learning alone for a variety of reasons- I can take private sessions in the daytimes during the week, some weekends and some evenings. Please message or email to find out more.

Club Field
The Club Agility field has a full set of Galican KC-regulation equipment, non slip tunnels and soft wall and long jump to train over. Our Hoopers equipment is Canine Hoopers UK standard. The field is in a secure grass arena at Quob Stables, with our own parking area away from the horses.
We also have use of the indoor arenas through the winter and in bad weather.
There are cafe and toilets on site, as well as nice local walks.

How We Train
Most of our early focus is on confidence, engagement and drive. We want the dogs to have fun, as we can re-direct enthusiasm to almost anything!
We also need the dogs to listen to us in an over-arousing environment, so our input is extremely important to the partnership.
