Recall and Loose Lead Walking Classes

Loose lead walking and reliable recall are two of the most valuable life skills a dog can learn—not just for safety, but for the overall wellbeing of both dog and handler. When a dog can walk calmly without pulling, everyday outings become more enjoyable, less stressful, and far safer. Instead of bracing against the lead or worrying about what your dog might do next, you’re able to relax, communicate, and truly enjoy your time together. For the dog, loose lead walking encourages focus, confidence, and calmness, helping them navigate the world in a positive and controlled way.

Recall is equally essential, giving your dog the freedom to explore while keeping them safe from potential dangers. A dog who reliably comes back when called can enjoy richer, more fulfilling walks—sniffing, playing, and moving freely while still staying connected to you. Strong recall isn’t just a cue; it’s trust. It’s the foundation of safe off-lead adventures, secure play, and the kind of bond that allows both of you to thrive in any environment.

A positive reinforcement trainer can completely transform the walking experience for both human and dog. By using kind, reward-based methods, we help dogs understand what we want from them, rather than punishing mistakes. This builds confidence instead of fear, motivation instead of stress, and trust instead of tension. When a dog is trained using positive, science-backed techniques, they begin to choose the behaviours we’re teaching—not because they’re forced to, but because they enjoy learning and understand the reward in being close to us.

The impact on daily life is enormous. Walks become peaceful and joyful, reactive moments decrease, and owners feel proud, empowered, and connected to their dogs. A dog who can be trusted on a walk is a dog who can live a fuller, happier life—and a guardian who can finally breathe, smile, and enjoy every step of the journey.

How We Train

Most of our early focus is on confidence, engagement and drive. We want the dogs to have fun, as we can re-direct enthusiasm to almost anything!
We also need the dogs to listen to us in an over-arousing environment, so our input is extremely important to the partnership.
